Espirito Santo Bank turns profit, but parent loses billions

7/30/2014 - Espirito Santo Bank booked a profit in Miami, but its parent company in Portugal was rocked by a major loss that lowered its capital to troubling levels. Banco Espirito Santo lost $4.8 billion in the first half of 2014, the company said Wednesday. That dropped its Tier 1 capital ratio to 5 percent, which is below the 7 percent requirement in Europe for a “well capitalized” bank. Jesuit High invests in iPads for 760 students this school year

7/30/2014 - Students at Jesuit High School will no longer have to lug around heavy backpacks thanks to its new 1:1 Program. This incoming school year, the Catholic all-boys private school will hand out 760 Apple iPads to its students in order to create a more personal education. 7/30/2014 - Unicorp National Developments Inc. is selling one of its retail properties in the heart of Orlando’s International Drive tourist corridor for $30 million.
